About

With the surprise success of their first album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, the guys in Panic! At The Disco, at the time, all of them teenagers, had some grand artistic visions for their first headlining tour. They wanted to complement their four-piece band with a couple of extra musicians, and a small circus troupe. In mid-2006, I flew to Las Vegas with my cello to begin rehearsals.

The initial two months of US shows were eventually extended to include three weeks of festivals in Europe, a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, a world-wide arena tour, and appearances on Conan and Leno. My last show with the group was a live broadcast on New Year's Eve from Times Square for NBC.

While playing in a rock band can seem glamourous, there is a lot of downtime between shows. These photographs were shot in dressing rooms around the country with my Holga and a cheap flash during the interminable hours, waiting for something to happen.
